The United Nations was established after WW II due to the fact that nations were more independent of their thinking: Countries went to war when diplomatic ties were no longer followed. What the United Nations did was bring together the countries of the world to talk out their differences to reach a settlement rather than just going to war. Wars have happened since the United Nations was founded, but perhaps less wars have been fought because of the United Nations' founding in the United States located in New York City, New York. The United Nations is a unique establishment that progress mankind (Human Family) forward toward progress.
The United Nations has several different functions like Peace Keeping, Humanitarian Aide, Laying out Peace Plans to take into consideration for conflicting countries to bring an end to bad relations. To keep the opposing sides talking is better than war. The United States of America is the largest contributor of funding for the United Nations. The United States was one of the original drafting Governments for the make-up and establishments of the United Nations. The Charter of the United Nations has similar make-ups of the United States Constitution, but the use of different names. The United Nations will always serve a great purpose in a world filled with wars, crimes against humanity, terrorism, natural disasters, poverty, disease, tensions between countries.
Some people believe the United Nations is a road to a one world government, which is the opposite of why the United Nations was set up. The United Nations is to bring the richer countries together to give help to the poor. To promote education: For example, catch a fish for a person and feed him or her for one day...teach the person to fish and feed him or her for the rest of their life. To pull resources together among countries during hardships on countries and their citizens to be compassionate. To show that countries can cooperate in trade and medicine, and join together to perform peace keeping to avoid anarchy or crimes against humanity; Thus, enforcing the United Nations Human Rights Resolution. The Human Rights Resolution is the foundation to the United Nations.
